T<\/strong>he Head of the Department of Archaeology at the College of Arts, University of Baghdad, Assist. Prof.\u00a0Anmar Abdul-Ilah Fadhil, Ph.D., has achieved a major international scholarly accomplishment following the selection of the discovery of the Babylonian Hymn among the Top Ten Archaeological Discoveries Worldwide for the year 2025 by Archaeology Magazine, published by the Archaeological Institute of America.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This discovery is the result of a joint scientific study conducted by Assist. Prof. Anmar Abdul-Ilah, Ph.D., in collaboration with Professor Enrique Jim\u00e9nez of the University of Munich. Utilizing artificial intelligence technologies, the researchers were able to compile and translate approximately 250 lines of a rare cuneiform text that sheds light on the god Marduk, offers descriptions of the city of Babylon and the Euphrates River, and reveals key social values that characterized Babylonian civilization. The study was published in the journal IRAQ, issued by University College London.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This achievement represents a significant contribution to cuneiform studies and reflects the leading role of the University of Baghdad in preserving Iraqi cultural heritage and strengthening its international academic presence. It also contributes to the realization of<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
