The College of Arts at University of Baghdad inaugurated the proceedings of the conference entitled \u201cAnthropology and the State\u201d, in the presence of Prof. Ali Abdulameer Sajit, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Arts, University of Baghdad, and His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Al\u2011Mubarka\u2019, Ph.D., in addition to a gathering of professors, researchers, and scholars interested in the social and human sciences.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The opening session commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur\u2019an, followed by an address delivered by the Dean of the College, in which he emphasized the vital importance of anthropological studies in elucidating the structure of the state and understanding its social and cultural transformations. He also highlighted the role of the College of Arts in supporting scientific research and consolidating academic dialogue on contemporary societal issues.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Subsequently, the Head of the Department of Sociology, Prof. Hussein Fadhil Salman, Ph.D., delivered a welcoming speech in which he noted that the conference serves as an academic platform for the exchange of perspectives and expertise, contributing to the advancement of anthropological research and its integration with issues of the state and society within their diverse contexts.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The conference aims to examine the relationship between anthropology and the state and to explore its theoretical and applied dimensions through a series of specialized scientific sessions and scholarly research papers.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
