Under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Amir Sajet, the professors and students of the Department of Geography, led by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Wissam Ahmed Rashid, undertook a scientific field visit to Haditha District in Al Anbar GovernorateThe visit, organised by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Sabar and Dr. Ann Rajab, aimed to familiarise students with the city’s geomorphic features, such as the Salman Subsidence and the Horan Valley. The itinerary also included visits to historical sites, such as the Haditha Dam on the Euphrates River. The professors provided students with a comprehensive overview of the Quaternary period, the third and final era of modern life. They also shared insights on the seas and oceans in the Haditha District. The visiting delegation emphasised the importance of preserving these natural areas and highlighted the need for their rehabilitation and protection
