Professor Dr. Ali Aboud Muhammadawi, Assistant Dean of the College of Arts for Student Affairs, delivered a presentation at the conference “Immanuel Kant and the Actuality of His Philosophy for the Contemporary Arab World,” held at the Arab Cultural House in Berlin, Germany
Over the two days, 21-22 June, participants discussed the relevance of Kant’s philosophy, as presented by both conferences. Prof. Dr. Ali Aboud Muhammadawi also presented a paper titled “The Ideal Decade as the Founder of Real-Life Peace: Kant and His Political Vision in the Arab World.” The paper highlighted the significance of Kant’s moral and political philosophy in relation to the realities of the Arab world, particularly Iraq. It explored his vision of lasting peace, the possibility of coexistence, and how his idealism could serve as a catalyst for overcoming the challenges of cruelty and extremism facing Arab and Muslim societies
The conference was attended by philosophers from Germany, the United States, Iran, and the Arab world, and was convened to mark the third centenary of the death of philosopher Immanuel Kant
