Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Arts – University of Baghdad, Prof.  Ali Abdul Ameer Sajit, Ph.D., and in conjunction with Anti-Drug Awareness Week, and in compliance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to promote community awareness and combat this dangerous scourge, the Media and Government Communication Unit, in cooperation with the Student Activities Unit at the College of Arts, organized a friendly match under the slogan: “Sports Without Drugs”, with the participation of a number of students.

The event aimed to highlight the role of sports as an effective means of protecting young people against negative behaviors—foremost among them drug abuse—by directing students’ energies toward physical and health-oriented activities that develop their physical and psychological well-being and promote a life free from addiction.

The activity included a series of competitive sports events, along with awareness messages delivered by the organizers to emphasize the dangers of drugs and the necessity of combating them through education and adherence to healthy behavior. Educational brochures were also distributed, outlining the health, social, and legal consequences of drug use and encouraging the reporting of any negative behaviors that may threaten the university environment.
