The College of Arts at the University of Baghdad, under the patronage of its Dean, Prof. Ali Abdulameer Sajit, Ph.D., launched the activities of the Health Support Week festival in cooperation with the Ministries of Health and Interior. The initiative aims to promote health awareness, enhance community-based prevention, and strengthen institutional partnerships in support of students and the wider community.

The festival featured a range of medical screenings and specialized consultations, including diabetes and blood pressure testing, as well as screening for viruses and communicable diseases. These services were provided under the supervision of the Immunodeficiency Screening Center team and witnessed broad participation from students and staff members.

The Festival also included educational and cultural components, represented by an awareness-raising caricature exhibition organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, in addition to a theatrical performance addressing addiction and its psychological and social impacts. The festival concluded with a joint musical concert.

This initiative aligns with the College’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), through the promotion of health awareness and the development of effective institutional partnerships.
