As part of his academic tour in Japan, Professor Baha Ibrahim Ensaf, Ph.D., President of the University of Baghdad, accompanied by Professor Ali Abdulameer Sajit, Ph.D. signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sophia University after obtaining the necessary approvals from the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The agreement was signed on behalf of Sophia University by its President, Professor Yoshiaki Terumichi, who expressed his delight at formalizing this scientific collaboration after seven years of academic engagement between faculty and students of both universities.
The agreement facilitates scientific collaboration between Sophia University and University of Baghdad in areas such as academic research, joint supervision, and teaching. It also includes provisions for hosting international conferences and promoting faculty and student exchange programs.
Professor Baha Ibrahim Ensaf, Ph.D. emphasized that this significant agreement between two prominent universities will open broad horizons for University of Baghdad to expand its international collaborations and achieve further advancements in academic fields. He also highlighted that this is the third agreement between University of Baghdad and Japanese institutions, with more partnerships and memorandums of understanding planned with other Japanese universities in the near future.
