Prof. Ali Abdulameer Sajit, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Arts, participated in the opening of the Sixteenth Iraqi–Japanese International Conference, which was launched in the Japanese cities of Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Kyoto from 4 to 11 December 2025 under the title “The Current State of Japanese Studies and the Japanese Language in Iraq.”
The President of the University of Baghdad also took part in the opening of the conference and delivered a speech highlighting the depth of academic relations between the two countries and stressing the importance of continuing this joint scientific activity. In his address, the Dean of the College of Arts emphasized the long-standing history of relations between the College of Arts and Japanese universities, noting that the year 2025 marks the celebration of twenty years of cooperation between the University of Baghdad and Japanese institutions and universities.
The conference included five academic sessions held across Waseda University and Hiroshima University, in addition to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, as well as other academic activities in which the Dean of the College of Arts participated alongside the President of the University and an academic delegation that toured several Japanese universities and research institutions.
