As part of strengthening international academic relations, Prof. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, Ph.D., President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Ali Abdulameer Sajit, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Arts – University of Baghdad, and Prof. Mahmoud Al-Qaisi, Ph.D., Professor of Japanese Studies at the College of Arts, visited the Japanese Ambassador in Baghdad, Mr. Akira Endo.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed the signing of the third academic cooperation agreement between the University of Baghdad and Sophia University in Tokyo, following the success achieved through the previous two memoranda of understanding with Chiba University in 2017 and JICA in 2023.
Ambassador Endo affirmed that his country is fully prepared to support these distinguished academic initiatives, praising the progress achieved by the University of Baghdad in the fields of scientific research. He also expressed Japan’s readiness to strengthen avenues of cooperation through joint projects, teaching programs, joint supervision, as well as organizing international conferences between the two countries.
