Prof. Abdulrahman Fartous Haidar, Ph.D., a faculty member at the College of Arts and a specialist in Mongol history, participated in the international conference titled “Regions and States at the Crossroads of a New World Order”, held in the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar, from May 16 to 20, 2025. His participation came through the presentation of a scholarly paper entitled “Mongolia: Between the Historical Heritage and the Challenges of the New World.”
The study aimed to shed light on Mongolia’s position within the global historical context by examining the Mongols’ historical legacy and its role in shaping the national identity of the modern Mongolian state, with a focus on the major political and economic challenges facing Mongolia amid international changes and the emergence of a new world order.
The research concluded with several findings, most notably that Mongolia possesses a rich historical legacy that can contribute to strengthening its position on the international stage and serves as an effective pillar in building its soft power. This academic participation represents a valuable contribution reflecting the distinguished academic level of our college’s faculty members and embodies their ongoing commitment to active engagement in global scholarly dialogues.
