The Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Ali Abdulameer Sajet, Ph.D., congratulated Prof. Laith Majid Hussein, Ph.D., Director of the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage, on the occasion of his being awarded the French Order of Arts and Letters at the rank of Knight. This honor is one of the highest distinctions granted by the French government in the fields of culture, intellectual achievement, and the arts.

The decoration ceremony took place during an official event held at the residence of the French Ambassador in Baghdad on Thursday, June 19, 2025, where the medal was presented to Prof. Laith by Mr. Patrick Durel, the Ambassador of France to the Republic of Iraq, based on a decree issued by the French Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati.

This recognition comes in appreciation of the significant contributions made by Prof. Laith in the fields of archaeology and history, as well as his continuous efforts to strengthen cultural ties between Iraq and France through various scientific and cultural initiatives and projects that have helped build bridges of communication between the two countries.

This prestigious award represents a culmination of his academic and cultural career and an international acknowledgment of the value of his work in serving human heritage and deepening cultural dialogue among nations.
